STATISTICAL TESTING OF THE HYPOTHESIS THAT THE NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS
IN QUEUEING SYSTEM GI /G /∞ HAS ASYMPTOTICALLY NORMAL DISTRIBUTION
IN HEAVY TRAFFIC

Abstract. The queueing system GI /G /∞ in heavy traffic is considered. Statistical data are generated due to Monte Carlo simulation. The author considers the possibility of applying some statistical criteria to test the hypothesis that the number of customers has asymptotic normal distribution in steady state. Numerical examples are considered.

Keywords: queueing system, heavy traffic, steady-state distribution, statistical hypothesis, asymptotically normal distribution, Monte Carlo method.
