Abstract. We consider the feedback control problem for objects with distributed parameters using continuous observation of the phase state of the object at its certain points by the example of control of the heating process in a tubular heat exchanger in a steam jacket. For numerical solution of the considered feedback control problem, we propose to use first-order numerical methods. For this purpose, we derive formulas for the components of the gradient of the objective functional in the space of the parameters being optimized. The results of the numerical experiments are given.
